Family Gathering and Retirement Ceremony for Rusdi Rusli, MS and Winarto, MS

Padang, May 24-25, 2025 – An atmosphere of intimacy and emotion enveloped the Family Gathering of the Plant Protection family, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Andalas, held at Legen Villa, Lubuk Minturun, Padang City, West Sumatra. This activity was not only a venue for gathering and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among the academic community but also a special moment to bid farewell to two figures who have dedicated themselves for decades: Mr. Ir. Rusdi Rusli, MS (1986 - 2025) and Mr. Ir. Winarto, MS (1987-2025). The event was warm and full of joy, filled with various games, gymnastics, swimming, and karaoke involving all members.

The highlight of the activity was marked by the retirement ceremony procession, as a form of respect and deep appreciation for the dedication of these two figures who have been important pillars in the development of the Plant Protection Study Program. Both are exemplary figures who have not only shared their knowledge but also values of integrity, perseverance, and the spirit of guiding the younger generation.

In their speeches, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and the Head of the Plant Protection Department expressed their respect and gratitude for the invaluable service of both gentlemen. Impressions and messages from colleagues and students colored the emotional atmosphere. Many were swept away in nostalgia for the memories of togetherness while working and studying with these two figures.

The event concluded with a photo session and lunch together, symbolizing the solidarity and togetherness that continues to be maintained even as times change.
