What do we learn in the Unand Plant Protection Department?
The main focus of this study program is the management of plant-disturbing organisms (OPT), such as pests, pathogens (diseases), and weeds. Students will study subjects such as Plant-Insect Relationships, agricultural microbiology, and the fundamentals of plant protection to support sustainable agricultural systems.
What is the vision and mission of the Unand Plant Protection Study Program?
This study program has a vision to become a leading and dignified educational institution at the ASEAN level in the field of food security by 2028. Its mission includes providing quality education and basic and applied research in the field of plant protection to support national food security.
What are the job prospects for Plant Protection graduates?
Graduates have a wide range of career opportunities, ranging from government agencies such as the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Quarantine Agency, to state-owned and private companies in the plantation and pesticide sectors. Estimated salaries for professionals in this field, such as pest experts or agricultural extension workers, range from Rp 5,000,000 to Rp 15,000,000 per month, depending on the sector.
What are the entry routes and how much does tuition cost?
New student admissions are conducted through the SNBP (Student Admissions), SNBT (Student Admissions), and Independent Selection (SIMA). For the independent selection, in addition to paying the UKT (Single Tuition Fee) per semester, students are also charged an Institutional Development Fee (PI), a one-time initial fee, paid at the beginning of the semester.
