Workshop on OBE-based Curriculum and Course Plans (RPS) and Preparation for ASIIN Accreditation

Solok, 13 October 2026 — The Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Andalas held a two-day workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) course plans and preparations for ASIIN accreditation on October 12–13, 2026. Held at Daima Moosa Glamping Park in Solok Regency, West Sumatra, the event was part of the department’s efforts to improve teaching and learning through curriculum enhancement, refinement of course planning documents, and development of teaching materials.
The workshop was opened by the Head of the Department of Plant Protection, Prof. Novri Nelly, who also presented an update on the development of OBE-based course plans. Faculty members and course teaching teams participated in reviewing and refining instructional planning to support students’ attainment of the intended learning outcomes.
Prof. Taufik from IPB University served as the guest speaker, addressing preparations for ASIIN accreditation and reviewing the alignment between the curriculum and OBE-based course plans. The OBE approach places learning outcomes at the center of course content, learning activities, and assessment design. Course planning therefore plays a key role in ensuring that teaching and learning activities align with the intended competencies.
The program continued with presentations of course plans by the teaching teams, followed by a joint review with the guest speaker. This session provided an opportunity to gather feedback for improving course documents and to build a shared understanding of OBE implementation among faculty members.
Alongside the academic sessions, the workshop included team-building activities, games, and group exercise. These activities encouraged collaboration and strengthened connections within the Department of Plant Protection.
Through this workshop, the Department of Plant Protection at Universitas Andalas aims to strengthen its OBE-based course planning and advance preparations for ASIIN international accreditation. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to continuous improvement in educational quality.
